Bio Servo Ironhand 2.0

The Bio Servo Ironhand® strengthens the human grip, prevents strain injuries and reduces sick leave. This glove consists of an active soft exoskeleton that covers all five fingers and a supply unit that is carried in a rucksack. The glove is equipped with artificial tendons and pressure sensors. They trigger the servomotors installed in the device. These motors provide the operator with a particularly powerful grip. Thanks to customised configuration, the grip strength can be adapted to a specific work task.

Ironhand not only supports the operator, but also collects data for digital risk assessment, and assesses and identifies use cases with a potentially high ergonomic risk. The data is analysed using scientific risk assessment methods such as KIM/MHO and HAL/TLV. Based on the calculations, the operator's exposure risk is determined and Ironhand helps to minimise potential risks.

The strengthening glove

At the heart of the Ironhand® system is the ingeniously designed glove, which is adapted to our anatomy and distributes the force to the fingers based on the pressure applied and the pre-set configuration. A lot of development has gone into the latest design, which is thinner, slimmer and more skilful.

Android-based app

Simple customisation

Users can customise Bio Servo's Ironhand® at any time throughout the working day and create user-defined profiles according to their individual preferences and specific work tasks. This is done in IronConnect, an Android-based app for configuration and profile management of the Ironhand glove.

There is also a remote control that allows the operator to change the grip force, select a preset profile or press the quick stop at any time.

Digital risk assessment

The Bio Serve Ironhand® collects data to enable a digital risk assessment that evaluates and identifies use cases with a potentially high ergonomic risk. The analysis provides an assessment of the operator's risk of developing strain injuries and the potential risk mitigation that Ironhand can contribute.

The data functions make it possible to connect the operator and integrate people into the concept. Industry 4.0/factory of the future.

Can be used twice

Ergonomic carrying solutions

Two carrying solutions are available so that the user can choose the carrying solution that best suits their work. Some prefer the backpack, where the power supply unit is carried on the back. Back is worn, others prefer the hip-carry, where the mesh part is worn in a belt on the hip with braces for support. Both the hip carry and the rucksack are available in different sizes to ensure an optimum fit.
